Profile

Drew Burns is the designer and founder of Poa Landscape Design. I created Poa because of my passion for native plants and bringing sustainable design practices to clients' gardens. Growing up in Rye, I was surrounded by native landscapes and I feel this should be the experience of every Australian.

The Poa Landscape Design studio strives to create landscapes that are beautiful, sustainable, and functional.

We use a combination of natural materials and modern design techniques to create landscapes that stand the test of time. We take the time to understand our client’s needs and style preferences in order to create something that is uniquely theirs.

Our specialty is creating outdoor living spaces that bring people together and provide a place to relax and unwind.

The importance we place on sustainable design is in focus from the conception of the design, all the way through to the end of life for materials used. Using materials from local or recycled sources we aim to elevate your outdoor spaces without adding to the environmental issues surrounding new materials.

Hello!

Sustainable Landscape Design

What I Offer

Whether a courtyard or a rural property, I can offer tailored solutions to elevate your native landscape design with a sustainability lens can enhance the beauty of your surroundings while promoting biodiversity and conservation. Learn how to incorporate native plants and sustainable practices into your landscaping for a thriving ecosystem.

  • Not only do we want to create a space for you and your family's needs, we like to think about the larger aspect of the environment, community and connectedness to the surrounding areas.

  • We like to think that our design style brings an approachable feel. This can extend past clients and how visitors will feel when in a Poa landscape.

  • We love natives, and where possible favour indigenous plants. While our goal is to bring biodiversity through plants, we aim to create sanctuaries for insects and animals too. While our climate is changing, looking through a lens of climate-adapted species helps the long-term health of our designs.
